The factory BMW power steering pump is subject to failure due to being overdriven by the larger diameter LSX crankshaft pulley. This pulley allows the pump to operate at normal RPM and increases pump longevity; especially in a demanding motorsport environment.
We also recommend use of larger than factory power steering cooler for added safety.
